Abstract art is considered a depiction of an interpretation of something real but does not necessarily resemble that item. To those outside the art world, an abstract may mean parts of a whole thought or concept that does not always show the concept in its entirety. When looking at abstract ties however, the art of replicating something that is unrecognizable from the original is obviously a success.
Some of the designs in abstract ties appear as though an entire work of art was placed in a blender and then dumped onto a pallet of ties, none of them bearing any resemblance to the original, except for the colors perhaps. However, abstract ties are exceptionally popular among the younger and more active set as they often include wild colors and designs not seen in other types of ties.
Even some professionals are tempted to wear abstract ties as a symbol of their silent rebellion to what they consider the corporate world. However, unusual coloring is not the only part of abstract ties that many people find attractive. There are numerous shapes included on abstract ties, some geometric and some appear as though lines were simply dropped into place without any real thought about design. Colors are then added to the shapes in no particular fashion presenting an image that while showing no signs of being purposely designed, still offer a pleasing showing on an abstract tie.
Unusual designs and colors are often seen as being abstract and forgiven as such if no one but the artist understands the purpose of the design. Once the artist explains the thoughts behind the design of the abstract tie, many more people tend to see the intended image. Although some may see abstract art as just an excuse for someone without artistic talent designing something only they understand.
In essence, an abstract tie is not really meant to create a discussion of what the image means. It is just a tie and the colors and shapes are there for presentation, most often for contrast of a solid color shirt. Not always are abstract ties considered a part of an unseen work of art. Many times the designer simply used an existing type of pattern or shape and filled it in with whatever colors they felt looked good together, especially when on a tie.
The whole concept of abstract ties is to enable individuals to make a statement of some sort or at least to wear a tie that is as loud and boisterous as their personality. Whether they wear a loud tie every day or only on days they feel as though they have something different to say with their attire, an abstract tie gives them plenty of opportunities and ideas with which to say it.
Swirls and combinations of curves and straight lines are often mixed with opposing colors on abstract ties as some will want to find that one design that is as unique as they see themselves as being. Many feel that an abstract tie is speaking for them and their own personality.
